About

.. during a bike tour at the end of July 2012, I scared away a flock of carrier pigeons from a freshly mowed wheat field and that was the impetus:

"now it's time to get back to a teenage hobby..."

History (July 1971):

- I was thirteen years old and during the holidays my father took me with him to work, but it was nothing for me, boring. Small village - Ihľany. After a short time, however, my attention was caught by the pigeons circling above us. I told my father I was going to have a look... Through the fence I watched a man feeding pigeons. It didn't take long and I was already feeding them with it...

Vladimír Krempaský - I had my first carrier pigeons from "Uncle Vlad", a wonderful hobby - there were no diseases then, my "enemies" were only hawks and martens. It took ten beautiful years...

Return (July 2012):

- a person should think carefully about important decisions if he does not have the necessary information - also seek advice. Miroslav Arendáč – Miro, my friend, during one evening in July, told me in detail about his experiences "for better or for worse..." connected with this hobby. Despite the fact that I guess the negatives prevailed at the time, it did not change my decision. I built my first loft in the loft above the 24-couple garage, and it's a modernized copy of my teenage loft, probably out of nostalgia. A second loft was added to it in the autumn, which has two breeding departments - each for 20 pairs and one department for young pigeons.

A year later, a third loft was added, which has two interconnected departments - for pigeons and for doves and is intended for the widow's method of racing racing pigeons.

Breeding plan

I like to say that "the table is strongest when it stands on four legs", so I built my breeding on four lines:
1st line: - pigeons from my friends from my hometown:
Miroslav Arendáč, Nová Ľubovňa, we started breeding carrier pigeons together as teenagers.
Ľubomír and Peter Krempaský, Ihľany. Brothers who continue the carrier pigeon breeding relay, which they took over from their father Viliam and from their uncle - "uncle Vlad", who still participates in their success today.
Jozef Vojtek, Stará Ľubovňa
Rudolf Šulík, Stará Ľubovňa

2nd line: - pigeons from important breeders from Slovakia:
Peter Matalík, Brezovica
Jaroslav and Milan Mojzeš, Sabinov
Slavomir Klein, Sabinov

MTS TRIX DERBY Slovakia 2012, Trstená

3rd line: - pigeons from an important breeder from the Netherlands:
Huub Hermans, Born, NL

4th line: - pigeons from an important breeder from Belgium:
Theo Weytjens, Zutendal, BE

Today:

I am a carrier pigeon breeder.
I am an active member of ZO SZCHPH Sabinov.
With the passage of time, I have to agree with my friend Mir - everything described by him - "positive" and "negative" that is connected with this hobby was "filled to the last dot..." in a short time.
Negative experiences - life has taught me that it is necessary to fight with problems, but only give them as much time as they necessarily require...
And the positives - they also came true and far exceed the problems associated with this hobby, to describe them in detail I would need a whole chapter, so I will express it briefly in words:
"when I'm in the loft, I'm in another world and for me it's 100% relaxation"
